About this listen

In this episode, we talk with Kuol Awan, a former Lost Boy of Sudan and advocate for refugees and displaced communities around the world. Awan was just a young boy when he fled his village in southern Sudan, along with tens of thousands of other children who would become known as the Lost Boys. After years of living in refugee camps and enduring unimaginable hardship, Awan was resettled in the United States and has since dedicated his life to helping others who have faced similar struggles. He reflects on his experience immigrating to unfamiliar areas of the world and what the process meant to him.
