Lettering artist and Flight Attendant Dustin Hay joined me today on The Path of Me. We talked about the importance of believing in yourself, and how it leads to new beginnings, his daily gratitude practice, and learning to love yourself. It was a great conversation between old friends and a joy for me. He offered a great exercise that helped him truly love himself; take a dry-erase marker and write on the bathroom mirror, I love you because..... (fill in the blank). It was hard for him at first, but eventually he felt the love.
He was also vulnerable enough to share his sobriety journey and how memory was the biggest gift. He can now, through presence and memory, share and support others on their own path.
