Summary

Tonight on One More & I’m Outta Here, we’ve got a global showdown, potential peace talks, and politicians suddenly discovering the phrase “this is a hit job.”

We kick things off with the absolute wildest feud you didn’t have on your bingo card:

Donald Trump vs. Pope Leo XIV.

Yes, the President of the United States and the Pope are basically subtweeting each other on the world stage. Trump says the Pope should stay out of politics, the Pope says he’s not afraid and keeps preaching peace… and somehow this turned into the most unexpected heavyweight bout of 2026.

Meanwhile, there are rumblings about potential U.S.–Iran talks as tensions cool (or at least pause), which is great — because the only thing more stressful than the news lately is trying to figure out if we’re at war or just aggressively arguing.

Then we’ve got Eric Swalwell stepping up to the mic and calling the accusations against him a political “hit job.”
At this point, every politician accused of anything immediately hits the same playbook:
Step 1: Deny
Step 2: “This is a hit job”
Step 3: Book a TV interview

Honestly, if “hit job” was a stock, it’d be outperforming everything in the market right now.

So to recap:

  • The Pope and the President are going round for round
  • The U.S. and Iran might be talking instead of yelling
  • And “hit job” is officially the most overused phrase in politics

👉 Moral of the story:

The world is either on the brink of diplomacy… or the next episode of a reality show nobody asked for.
