About this listen

American Democracy is not promised to us and, with all the forces working against it, saving it will take a level of work most people aren’t ready for. The Politics Girl Podcast is here to give people a reason to care and a reason to fight. Our goal is to inspire. To instill in people a true understanding of what this country COULD be, if the right people were fighting for it, and what it WILL be if they don’t. It’s a political podcast yes, but more than that, it’s a podcast about America’s potential, where one passionate, and slightly mouthy, immigrant attempts to motivate the country to become what it promised to be but, so far, has yet to become. You’ll leave more knowledgeable, more engaged, and more sure that you, personally, can make a difference to the future of American democracy. Everyone’s got a little time for that right? Subscribe for new episodes every Tuesday. We’re in a fight for our country. We sure as hell better know what we’re fighting for. xo© 2022 Meidas Media Network, Leigh McGowan Political Science Politics & Government

  • The Epstein Breakdown: A conversation with Tara Palmeri
    Dec 23 2025
The Justice Department and the FBI are currently in complete violation of the law when it comes to the Epstein Transparency Act. They are clearly hoping we just embrace our nihilism and give up ever knowing what happened because deep down we accept the rich and powerful get to live under different rules and they’ll just get away with it. Well, that is unacceptable to me, to our guest, Epstein expert Tara Palmeri, and I hope it’s unacceptable to you. The American government is engaged in what is potentially the largest coverup in American history and it’s about sex trafficking women and children. If we ever want to be a good country again, we can NEVER let this go. As always, if you find worth in what we do, please consider SUBSCRIBING to PoliticsGirl Premium. • Have you CRASHED OUT?
    Dec 16 2025
I recently read a quote that said “I will never forgive him for making America a place people fear, a place people don’t like, don’t trust, don’t want to do business with, don’t want to visit, don’t want anything to do with. He has made America a place people laugh at, a place that is cruel and bigoted. America is no longer a destination. It is a place to be avoided.” And it resonated so deeply with me. I’m tired. You’re tired. We’re all exhausted and the hits just keep coming. So what do we do? Let’s talk about it. • How Do You Fix a Broken System: A Conversation with Yasmin Radjy
    Dec 9 2025
The most consistent feeling people have in this country right now is that the system is broken and that makes us feel powerless when we’re not. The Trump administration might be impossible for us to reach right now, but voters are right there, and according to Swing Left’s Yasmin Radjy we should be talking directly to them. Hope is a muscle that we’ve allowed to atrophy, but there’s no progress without it. The Democrats have to do a better job at listening and building trust if we’re not only going to beat back this terrible government, but rebuild something far better in it’s place.
