  • Myth vs Fact: We marry a version of our mother or father
    Sep 11 2024

Today, I will explore whether it is a myth or a fact that we marry a version of our mother or father.

Is this even a thing? If it is, then ouchie, the idea that we are drawn to versions of our parents in our romantic relationships may feel a little strange. If it isn't, then the question is why we are drawn to certain types of people.

Well, the answers are all here. Join me in understanding the research and theories that support or refute this theory and also my experiences as a therapist for over 20 years.

    Sep 1 2024
Today, I will speak to Wendy Miller, a mum of three teenage boys and a wise-for-my-size coach who supports children with their emotional literacy. Wendy discusses the importance of children understanding their emotions and how creating open communication within our homes fosters healthy emotional development in infancy and supports mental health in adulthood. We discuss how previous generations often hid emotions from children in an attempt to protect them from life's stressors and the implications of this for meeting our needs later in life. Aug 15 2024
Today I will be speaking to Nicole Bateman, who is a mum of two and the Founder of the Super Sensory Squad. After two and a half long years, despite the fact that seven professionals supported her application for an EHCP, not only was she initially declined for an assessment, but when she finally did get the assessment, her son's needs were not deemed necessary to be granted the much-needed support. Nicole talks about SEND Law and the importance of parents advocating for their children and looking after their own emotional well-being.
