  • The Oracle of Luna with Bridget Engels presents: Glen Rogers - Visual Artist of the Sacred Feminine - Author - Oracle Deck Creator & Educator
    Nov 7 2025

Discover the world of Art and the Sacred Feminine with the amazing Glen Rogers! In this episode, join us as we delve into Glen’s incredible body of work that intersects with ancient Goddess symbolism, HerStory themes, Women in their power and matriarchal cultures where Priestesses ruled. Glen is an internationally exhibited painter, printmaker and public sculptor. She relocated from the San Francisco Bay Area to Mexico in 2000 and currently lives in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Glen has an MFA in printmaking from San Jose State University. Glen’s artwork includes large scale public art/sculptor pieces, paintings, mono prints, and drawings that are exhibited widely in the US and Internationally for over 40 plus years. Glen’s artwork is women-centric and inspired by the Sacred Feminine. For many years Glen has traveled to ancient sacred sites and has done artist residencies throughout the world.

We begin by talking about Glen's early beginnings growing up in a small town in Mississippi. She studied Printmaking at University of Florida and got her Masters in Printmaking at San Jose State University. She embarked on a spiritual journey in her 20’s and then started to read books such as Merlin Stone’s: “When God was a Woman" and Rhiane Eisler’s “The Chalice and The Blade”. She had an amazing heart opening and spiritual epiphany discovering that there was a Goddess and matriarchy way before patriarchy. This informed her spiritual life as well as her artistic career as well. She then moved to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico which has a thriving artistic and creative community and a special place for Women especially those in their Crone years. Glen talks about how she and other women creative’s work and beings are valued in San Miguel, MX.

Once Glen started reading about Goddess Spirituality and the Sacred Feminine, she had an intense desire to travel to different neolithic and paleolithic sites and walk in the footsteps of the Goddess. She took photos and sketches and immersed herself in these sacred sites from all over the world. The power of those ancient sites that were places of Goddess worship expresses itself through Glen’s art/ imagery and can be felt when looking at her art. Glen says her art is inspired by the Sacred Feminine and her hope is that her work inspires and empowers others. It has a meditative and mystical quality that runs through her prints, paintings, drawings and sculptor. She hopes people will look at her art and use item as portals for meditation or mysticism and feel the divine feminine energy which is one of the reasons she wrote, designed and published her books and oracle decks.

Glen chats about her most recent artist residency in Malta and talks about the underground temple called the Hypogeum which is the only known prehistoric wall paintings in Malta, consisting of spiral and honeycomb patterns in red ochre pigment. Excavations yielded a wealth of Great Mother figures artifacts including the famous "Sleeping Lady" figurine, A small side chamber on the middle level, known as the "Oracle Room," has unique acoustic properties that produces a powerful resonance suggesting its possible use for rituals or ceremonies. Glen was shocked that in these ancient sites and museums in Malta there was never any mention of the Goddess. Talk about suppressed histories! She was nevertheless inspired by the power of these ancient temples .Tune in and be enlightened! Glen’s website:

  • The Oracle of Luna with Bridget Engels presents: Jesamyn Angelica: High Priestess - Creatrix & Founder of Sisterhood of the Moon, Author & Ritualist
    Oct 24 2025

Get ready to dive into Lunar Witchcraft with Jesamyn Angelica! Jesamyn is the founder and High Priestess of Sisterhood of the Moon, a matriarchal Goddess Tradition for all. For over thirty years, she has brought her Witchcraft practice and expertise in the Goddess Arts to her uniquely inclusive women’s empowerment work. A lifelong student trained in multiple traditions, she blends wit and humor with practical skills and cultivated wisdom to guide people of integrity toward authenticity through self-exploration. Jesamyn is the author of published by Llewellyn Worldwide, LLewellyn’s Complete Book of the Moon: Lunar Wisdom for Magic, Healing & Inspiration” releasing in December 2025.

Jesamyn grew up in a small, rural New England town and went to a Catholic school run by nuns. They school had a yearly tradition of honoring Mary with a flower festival in May which was Jesanyn’s first introduction to the Goddess/Divine Feminine. She found a copy of “The Power of the Witch” by Laurie Cabot and Shekina Mountainwater's book: “Ariadne’s Thread” that started her on the path of Women’s Spirituality.

We delve into Sisterhood of the Moon; Jesamyn's matriarchal Goddess community led by women for women. They have been person rituals in the San Francisco East Bay Area. Since 2010. The intent is to empower women by belonging and a shared reverence for the Goddess within and without.

Jesamyn and I believe that Women especially now, need to feel seen, heard and witnessed. So many of us are sleep walking through the patriarchal systematic mind control that we lose ourselves in our sacrifice to capitalism and all the damage that inflicts on our souls. With sacred feminine rituals we can actively remember who we are and all that is meaningful to us and to recenter ourselves in our life’s mission. This is the power of Women focused community Moon rituals.

We talk about Moon phases and how we can mindfully engage with the lunar energies of each Moon cycle in our magickal practice. The Moon is humanity's constant reminder of perpetual change and lunar energy mirrors our lives and the never ending process of construction and deconstruction, the rising and falling of everything we think, feel and do. All our bodies are cyclical, our energies are cyclical and we are all part of this greater cosmic rhythm whether we are aware of it or not. This is the profound power of the Moon on all of humanity and nature.

Jesamyn ends our episode with an enchanted blessing to opening to the path of the Moon Witch. Tune in and be enlightened! Jesamyn’s website: www.sisterhoodofthemoon.org

She received the Southern Black Theatre Festival’s 2012-2013 Playwright of the Year award for her play, Spring Chickens. In 2008, Mawiyah earned her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of New Orleans. Beyond her writing, she is a respected educator, an 8th Generation Witch, and a Priestess of OYA in the Yoruba spiritual system. Mawiyah is the author of two books published by Llewellyn Worldwide, 2023’s: Conjuring the Calabash: Empowering Women with Hoodoo Spells and Magick and Hoodoo Saints and Root Warriors: Stories and Magick for Liberation releasing in November 2025.

We begin by talking about Mawiyah’s early years growing up in New Orleans- the gumbo stew of African, Indigenous, Creole, French and Hispanic cultures. Mawiyah began seeing spirits at a young age. Her mother and grandmother understood Mawiya's magical gift. Her grandfather was a Santeria Priest. Another grandfather on her mother’s side was a Geechee man descendants from West Africa that were enslaved and brought to the American Southeast. Mawiyah grew up being embraced with various family spiritual practices and folkways from her family later on was termed as: Hoodoo. Mawiyah said she kept a journal and wrote down these family Hoodoo practices that she was told at a very young age in a journal.Mawiyah wanted to understand more and to also help others with their issues using Hoodoo.

One of the earliest saints she connected with is Marie Laveau. For Mawiyah this opened up the idea of Sheroes/Heroes; people that inspired her within her culture. We discover that we can still call on these elevated spiritual people even after they die, especially in the socio-political climate that we live in today. This was the impetus of Mawiyah’s newest book: Hoodoo Saints and Root Warriors: Stories and Magick for Liberation.

We chat about how enslavement of African peoples to the Americas and the Caribbean gave birth to Hoodoo which was used for healing, safety and spiritual protection from violence and oppression. Hoodoo, is a fusion of beliefs and cultural practices, blending elements from West African religions, Native First Nations traditions, and European herbal knowledge. Hoodoo also provides a connection to their lineage and Sheroes/Heroes and it weaves magic, empowerment, protection for the people who had been subjugated in a relatable way. Mawiyah was taught growing up that Hoodoo is Liberation Magick.

By working with the 12 Hoodoo Saints in Mawiyah’s spiritual guidebook; we can communicate with and channel with powerful and beloved Sheroes/Heroes. Her book shares inspiring stories, shows how to incorporate those Hoodoo saints into daily spell work, and expands any practitioner's repertoire through rituals, dice divination, altar work, and more. We discover one of Mawiyah’s favorite Hoodoo Saints in addition to Marie Laveau that she works with called La Madama.

Mawiyah shares with us a Hoodoo spell for Scream Water to effect change in your life at the end of the episode. Tune in and be enlightened! More about Mawiyah at: www.mawiyahkaieljamahboma
