Because we're about to flip the script. A massive warming trend is building across Northern California. By the weekend, we're talking temperatures in the low 80s inland. In early March. Yeah, you read that right. **Here's how today sets it up.** The Bay Area wakes up to patchy fog before 10 A.M., then sunshine takes over. Temperatures climb to 67 degrees around 2 P.M. Northwest winds stay gentle at 2 to 9 miles an hour. Tonight drops to 50 under mostly clear skies. Push inland to the Central Valley and the warmth really cranks up. Sunny skies drive temperatures to 76 degrees by mid-afternoon. Light winds keep things calm. Tonight cools to 47, then actually rises to 49 overnight as warm air settles in. That's not a typo — temperatures climbing after midnight. **Now let's talk about the week ahead.** Tuesday brings a brief cooldown — mid-60s along the coast, low 70s inland. Some clouds drift through, but nothing dramatic. Wednesday the warming trend resumes. Thursday hits 79 degrees in the valleys. Friday reaches 78. The weekend? Here comes 80 to 82 degrees across the Central Valley. The Bay Area stays slightly cooler in the low 70s, but that's still well above normal for early March.     Good afternoon. Northern California. I'm Matt Mullins. Spring just crashed the party two weeks early. We're running 46 degrees above normal today. And honestly? I'm not complaining. Step outside in the Bay Area right now and you're greeted by 65 degrees and pure sunshine. By this afternoon, you'll hit 76 before a light breeze nudges things back to the upper 60s. Tonight drops to 51 under clear skies — perfect for leaving the windows cracked. Push inland to the Central Valley and it gets even better. Highs near 78 this afternoon with barely a whisper of wind. Tonight settles around 51 degrees. For the week. Monday brings a slight cooldown as a weak system slides south of us. Bay Area highs drop to 67. The Valley cools to 76. Still sunny, just less aggressive about it. Tuesday stays mild — mid 60s at the coast, low 70s inland. Some clouds work in, but no rain. Wednesday kicks off a warming trend that builds straight through next weekend. Highs climb back to the upper 60s coastside and mid 70s inland. By Thursday and Friday. Here comes upper 70s inland, near 80 in some spots. The coast holds in the low 70s. The weekend looks gorgeous. Highs reach the upper 70s to low 80s across the interior, with coastal areas in the low 70s. Clear skies and light winds make it perfect outdoor weather. One quick note — Daylight Saving Time begins tonight. Spring forward one hour before bed. The spring equinox is just 12 days away. And honestly, it feels like it's already here. Today is all sunshine and warmth — running a solid 46 degrees above normal for early March. The Bay Area climbs to 76 degrees by mid-afternoon. Perfect weather for a lazy Sunday stroll if you ask me. The Central Valley pushes even warmer, topping out near 78. Light morning air gives way to northwest breezes by afternoon, gusting to 18 miles an hour along the coast. Tonight stays mild. The Bay Area eases to 53 degrees. The Central Valley settles near 50. Clear skies stick around. Monday brings a slight cooldown as weak onshore flow returns. Bay Area highs fall back to 66. The Central Valley still reaches 78. A few clouds drift in by afternoon, but no rain in sight. Tuesday marks the coolest day — mid-60s along the coast, low 70s inland. Northwest winds gust to 20 miles an hour across the Valley. Then warmth builds back in. Wednesday through Saturday, high pressure takes firm control. Sunshine dominates with coastal highs climbing into the low to mid-70s. The Central Valley warms into the upper 70s to low 80s by week's end. Thursday and Friday look especially toasty — some inland spots could touch 80 degrees. No rain through next weekend. Dry conditions continue as we head deeper into March.
