The trial of 59-year-old Paul Caneiro finally began this morning, seven years after police say he murdered his brother Keith, his sister-in-law, his 11-year-old nephew and 8-year-old niece and then set fire to their home and eventually his own to cover up the crimes. Opening statements laid out both cases, the prosecution detailing the brutality of Caneiro’s alleged crimes while the defense already let jurors know they are offering a different suspect in these heinous murders, Paul and Keith’s other brother, Corey.

Over the weekend, The Kennedy Center director claimed his X account was hacked… and that’s why his original tweet announcing ITS decision to end its partnership with the Washington National Opera was taken down. Richard Grenell was not happy with the media headlines that all read the Opera was leaving the Kennedy Center, making it the biggest departure yet in a growing number of artists who have cancelled shows or boycotted the center under Trump’s leadership. The Center for Food as Medicine & Longevity has just released its latest 3 year study on the quality of water on board airplanes, and the results and recommendations are disturbing. The study ranks water quality by airline, from best to worst, and says nearly all airlines need to make some changes to address bacteria found in some samples. Police have charged actor and director Timothy Busfield with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor. Police say the abuse happened on the set of “The Cleaning Lady” when the boys were just 7 and 8 years old. Busfield is married to actress Melissa Gilbert who has recently spoken out about child sex abuse on sets. Busfield is known for his roles in “Thirtysomething” and “The West Wing” and has suggested the allegations are revenge for the boys being replaced on the show.
