  • 11: From Whisper to Roar: Finding Your Voice
    Apr 30 2025
Welcome back to The Matriarchs—the podcast where we have real, honest conversations to help teen girls and young women navigate life with confidence. I’m Mama T and today we’re tackling a topic that I am fiercely passionate bout. Finding your voice. I think todays episode is SO important. Throughout my teen years and early twenties, I didn't realize I not only had a voice but God gave me a voice that He didn't want me to waste. When we find the voice that God gave us as part of His purpose for us, we can use that voice in a powerful way. This is a topic that I am so passionate about. Our voice and our purpose in life go hand in hand and each of us were put on this earth for a purpose. We have to seek out our purpose just like we have to see out and find our voice. We hope to help you do that today; to help you understand you have a voice.

  • 10: Body Image and Nourishment: Healing Your Relationship with Food
    Apr 15 2025
Today we’re tackling a topic that so many of us struggle with: body image issues, eating disorders, and the journey toward a healthier relationship with food. Today we’re exploring how food can be our medicine rather than our enemy. We live in a world that constantly tells us what we should look like, what we should eat, and how we should feel about our bodies. But today, we’re flipping that script. We want to talk about food as fuel, as medicine, as something that helps us live—not something to fear or obsess over. If you’ve ever felt guilty about eating a certain food, stressed about your weight, or pressured to count every calorie, this episode is for you. We’ll unpack how to build a healthy relationship with food and break free from the toxic messages around dieting. Today we have a very special guest, Erin Stricklin. Erin is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and graduated with the Nutritional Therapy Association at the end of 2021. Since then she has been helping women improve their relationship with food and body image by focusing on real, nutrient dense foods. She is passionate about helping women develop sustainable habits with food and spreading the message that healthy looks different on every beautiful, human body. We will link all of her socials along with the podcast, so that you can find her!

  • 9: Breaking the Mental Health Stigma: Navigating Stress, Anxiety, and More
    Mar 31 2025
Welcome back to The Matriarchs, today we’re talking about mental health—what it is, why it matters, and why it’s okay to not have it all together. No lectures. No labels. Just real talk about anxiety, stress, big feelings, and what to do when it all feels like… too much. Let’s just be honest—life can feel really heavy sometimes. You smile when you’re supposed to, say “I’m fine” when you’re not, and wonder if anyone actually sees what you’re going through. We see you. And we’re so glad you’re here. If your mind has been racing, your heart’s been heavy, or you’ve just felt “off” lately—this is your space. Let’s breathe, let’s chat, and most of all—let’s remind you that you’re not alone. Today we are welcoming a very special guest, Erika Foulk. Erika is a Licensed Practical Counselor with many years of experience. She shares with us how to deal with mental health such as stress and anxiety. We are so lucky to hear from her!
