Twenty degrees above normal. Your daffodils are confused. And honestly, so am I. Western Massachusetts leads the charge today, topping out near 66 degrees around 4 P.M. Central areas hit 64. The coast settles around 65, though sea breezes keep Cape Cod and the Islands a touch cooler. Southwest winds stay gentle at 6 to 10 miles an hour, with occasional gusts to 22. It's the kind of day where you leave your jacket in the car and don't regret it. Tonight stays mild under clear skies. Western Massachusetts drops to the low 30s with patchy fog after 1 A.M. Eastern and central areas hang in the upper 30s to low 40s. Tuesday cranks the heat even higher. We're talking near record warmth — upper 60s to low 70s. Western Massachusetts could hit 71 degrees. In March. Morning fog burns off quickly inland, though the coast stays hazy longer. Wednesday reality checks us. Clouds roll in with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s. Rain develops after 9 A.M, mainly inland. Thursday brings widespread rain as a cold front sweeps through. Highs in the mid-50s with gusty west winds. That rain transitions to snow Thursday night in higher terrain as temperatures crash. Friday? Back to actual March weather.
