About this listen
In our first “Classic Album Review” episode, we chose to review an album that we both love and is widely considered one of the best hip hop albums of all time. Eminem was one of the first artists that introduced us to the genre and is one of the most influential artists of our generation. The Marshall Mathers LP picks up where Slim Shady LP left off with vivid descriptions of what goes on inside the mind of Eminem’s “Slim Shady” character and blurs the lines of his identity between the two. The combination of Em’s genius wordplay, story telling, humor, and production makes this one of the most captivating albums that feels more like watching a horror movie than it does simply listening to music.
