  • Newcastle United 4-0 Carlisle United
    Jul 12 2025

Newcastle United kicked off their pre-season in style with a commanding 4-0 victory over Carlisle United at St. James' Park! Goals from Sean Longstaff, Joelinton, Jacob Murphy, and Ben Parkinson sealed the win in a match that showcased both first-team sharpness and exciting young talent.

PLUS — we dive into the latest transfer speculation linking Hugo Ekitike with a move to the Magpies. After scoring 22 goals and 12 assists last season for Eintracht Frankfurt, the French striker is once again on Newcastle’s radar. • Newcastle United 0-1 Everton (NUFC qualify for the Champions League)
    May 26 2025

Newcastle United sealed their golden ticket to the Champions League despite Everton securing a deserved victory at St James' Park. Eddie Howe's side started the day in fourth place in the Premier League and on course for Europe's elite competition, but looked in danger of missing out as they produced a performance riddled with nerves. Everton, in 13th place before kick-off after their rejuvenation under manager David Moyes, were more composed and ordered, taking the lead through Carlos Alcaraz's header after 65 minutes.

Newcastle's supporters were in a state of high anxiety until news filtered through that Manchester United were ahead against Aston Villa, sparking scenes of wild delight inside St James' Park when the final result of that game came through. Defeat means the Magpies end the season in fifth place, edging out Aston Villa on goal difference - enough to secure a place in the Champions League next season, with the Premier League's allocation up from the usual four spots.

  • Arsenal 1-0 Newcastle United
    May 19 2025

Declan Rice's second half winner saw Newcastle United beaten at Arsenal on Sunday - and meant the Magpies' quest for Champions League qualification will go all the way to the final day of the season. The England midfielder's eyecatching 25-yarder was all that separated the sides at the Emirates Stadium as Eddie Howe's side missed the chance to leapfrog the Gunners into second place in the Premier League table. United wrap up the campaign against Everton at St. James' Park next weekend and, following this defeat in North London, they will have to wait until the conclusion of that contest to know with certainty which European competition they will be competing in next term.
