  • Steel vs. Alloy, changing trends and top wheel tips with Chris Turner from 4x4 Tyres
    Jun 25 2025

In this episode of The LRM Podcast, Land Rover Monthly editor Martin Domoney sits down for a chat with Chris Turner from 4x4 Tyres to talk all things wheels.

The pair delve into the history of wheel upgrades for Land Rovers including old favourites such as modular steels and white 8-spokes, and discuss what's come and gone as trends develop and go by the wayside over the decades.

Chris explains how wheel sizes and offsets can have a huge effect on your Land Rover's looks and handling, and how these elements can change the vehicle's behaviour on and off-road.

He imparts loads more wheel knowledge, including looking at how weight can be a big contributing factor to acceleration and fuel economy, and goes into the reasons for choosing steel wheels over alloy wheels and vice versa.

  • Greenlaning dos and don'ts from a Yorkshire hillside
    Jun 11 2025

First of all, apologies for the background and wind noise on this one – as the title suggests, we're in Yorkshire on the side of a hill at the time of recording rather than on the salmon sofa.

In this episode, Martin Domoney and Neil Watterson are teeing up for a day's greenlaning in North Yorkshire with Steve Miller, and who better to impart some valuable knowledge on the subject than Neil, a man who has driven more greenlanes than most people have had hot dinners.

As well as the greenlaning chat, Feature of the Week and Product of the Week star, and of course we welcome your comments, questions and feedback – editorial@lrm.co.uk.

    Enjoy the episode.
