Today we hear from Heather from Lexington VA writes, King Charles III is visiting Washington in celebration of the country’s 250th anniversary. What is the real purpose of the King’s visit? Since he has no real power is there a diplomatic reason or agenda that the King can promote, or do you think this is just for show? Given the tension between the UK and US over Iran should the UK government have tried harder to get the King to cancel?

Regarding Iran, Iran has threatened to expand its blockade to the Sea of Oman and the Red Sea unless the U.S. lifts its naval blockade. Oil prices surged amid fears of prolonged conflict and potential infrastructure attacks. The UAE has announced it will be leaving OPEC. Does this decision have anything to do with the Iranian war? What might the global energy consequences be if OPEC was to dissolve?
