About this listen

Namaste, and welcome to The Humanities in Medicine Podcast Experience.

Health scare? Never fear, Dr. Michelle is here!

I am your host, and nonconformist, vivacious, and visionary producer, the "Healthcare Honey", as I am referred to throughout the world- Dr. Michelle K. Watson.

Over twenty years ago, I found myself facing a conundrum in my dealings within the medical community as a medical student, surgical house officer, translational medical scientist, and later surgeon. Health inequities were observed at numerous levels, with oftentimes blatantly horrible aberrations being committed against marginalized and disenfranchised communities- including patients of color, or BIPOC, the indigent, elderly, veteran, refugee, and immigrant. This podcast is a multicultural grassroots diversity, equity, and inclusive public health endeavor that challenges the medical status quo while showcasing the jewels in a crown of healthcare equanimity. The show is an avante garde, bohemian, trailblazing approach to established thought leadership in revolutionizing medicine, health, wellness, education, self-improvement, nutritional sovereignty, spirituality, ethnobotany, agricultural sustainability, and an evolution in the mind, body, spirit connection. Pastiche Podcast Pedagogy marries art, music, history, biomedical engineering, yoga, Buddhism, mindfulness, MBSR, society and culture into an unparalleled, resplendent audio production that is a honeyed potion to the ears, allaying your healthcare fears.

The Humanities in Medicine made history and established a record in 2025 by becoming the very first podcast to have an episode transformed into a hybrid museum exhibit that was featured internationally,

I am honored to have you assist me in deconstructing health disparities by joining the international Humanities in Medicine family.
