About this listen
This is the final episode in Season 2 of the podcast. And today I’m talking about your Hero’s Journey.
The Hero's Journey is a template that helps writers create a compelling story. It was made popular by Joseph Campbell in his book The Hero With a Thousand Faces.
There are three high level stages to the Hero’s Journey: 1) Departure, 2) Initiation, and 3) Return. On the episode I walk through each stage and discuss how you can apply the hero’s journey to your business.
Plotting your Hero’s Journey in business can help you:
- Find the inspiration and motivation to start/keep going.
- Understand where you are right now.
- Accept and reframe obstacles in your path.
- Accelerate insights and growth.
- Know when and how to seek help.
Listen in and discover which stage you’re in and what you need to do to keep moving forward in your Hero’s Journey.
What you’ll learn on today’s episode:- The three stages and 12 steps in the Hero’s Journey.
- What you need to do to progress from stage to the next.
- Why we need mentors, allies, and helpers when we start out on a new adventure.
- The difference between the Hero’s Journey and the Heroine’s Journey.
- Why I resonate more with the Heroine’s Journey and where I’m focusing my personal growth.
