  • War, Politics, and Theology: Unpacking the Complexities
    Jul 9 2025

The episode delves into the intricate relationship between politics, war, and theology, exploring the implications of the recent conflicts involving Israel and Iran. It challenges the common dispensationalist beliefs among Christians, particularly the notion of the modern state of Israel in relation to biblical prophecy. We critique the idea that current geopolitical events are precursors to the end times, as portrayed in the Book of Revelation, and explore the historical and theological context of these beliefs.

The conversation extends to the role of U.S. foreign policy, questioning the validity of military actions and their alignment with moral and constitutional principles.

Let's delve into the relevance and effectiveness of protests in modern society. We examine historical movements and contrast them with contemporary protests, such as the No Kings Day demonstrations, questioning whether peaceful assembly still serves as an effective tool for change. Have they really ever been effective? Is there potential for initiating conversations or merely serving as a platform for virtue signaling?

  • Perils of Indifference Part I
    May 8 2025

Tim starts the show with thoughts on Douglas Murray’s recent and peculiar criticism of “non-experts” on the Joe Rogan Show.

We then begin a long conversation on the question of moral indifference and the balance between bearing witness to suffering and the ethical imperatives to act, drawing connections between past and present global issues. The basis of the conversation is Elie Wiesel’s book Night. In it Wiesel shares the memories of the death of his family, and the death of his innocence as a Jew suffering in a WWII concentration camp. In addition, we discuss Wiesel’s 1999 White House Speech, The Perils of Indifference.
