  • Is The LDS Church Changing? Honest Thoughts About Mental Health, Judgement and God
    Jun 16 2025

In this episode of The Fire Within, I sat down for one of the most honest conversations I’ve ever had. We explored what happens when your faith evolves, when doubt creeps in, when the box you grew up believing in suddenly feels too small, and when asking questions feels more like reverence than rebellion.

We talked about the beauty of curiosity in faith, the weight of judgment in church culture, and what happens when someone shows up and simply chooses to love instead of trying to fix you. I opened up about my obsession with gospel study, how it’s changed my marriage, my faith, and my sense of self. And we dug into the hard stuff, mental health, the pressures around missions and marriage, and why facial hair and jeans at church shouldn’t define someone's spirituality.

But above all, this episode is about love, how God knows us intimately, how we’re all learning to know Him better, and how the purest form of discipleship might just be saying “I love you” more often. If you’ve ever felt outside the box, I hope this conversation makes you feel seen.

  • Gay Rights, Church Cash & Women’s Power: The LDS Questions No One Wants to Ask
    Jun 9 2025

This one’s personal. In this episode, we dive headfirst into some of the deepest, most difficult questions I’ve ever wrestled with, questions about salvation, fairness, eternal destiny, and whether God truly gives every soul a chance. I open up about what’s weighed on me for years: if only 0.01% of humanity has ever been baptized into the LDS Church, what about the rest? What about the billions who never had the chance?

We unpack the idea of a “one true church,” the grace in LDS theology that I believe often gets overlooked, and what it means for people of other faiths, or no faith at all. We talk candidly about eternal progression, pre-mortal life, LGBTQ inclusion, women in the priesthood, and even the Church’s finances and the law of consecration.

Nothing’s off limits. This is a raw, honest conversation about faith, doubt, logic, agency, and God’s love for all His children. Whether you’re a lifelong believer or someone questioning everything, my hope is that you feel seen in this episode and walk away with a little more clarity, compassion, and curiosity.

  • LDS Secrets Exposed? The Truth About the Black Priesthood Ban, Polygamy & Its Hidden History
    Jun 2 2025

In this episode, we take a different approach. There’s no pre-planned argument. No script. Just an honest, unscripted dive into the most difficult criticisms of the LDS faith, from polygamy and the priesthood ban to the Book of Abraham and the Mountain Meadows Massacre. I asked Tyler to steelman the anti-Mormon position, and I did my best to respond, not as someone with all the answers, but as someone who deeply cares about truth.

This conversation isn’t about blind faith or easy answers. It’s about wrestling with real questions, confronting painful history, and asking what it really means to believe in something, despite the messiness.

We also explore how to raise spiritually grounded, historically informed Saints in an age of information overload and growing skepticism. My hope is that whether you're a lifelong member, a doubter, or somewhere in between, you’ll walk away challenged, maybe uncomfortable, but ultimately more curious and committed to seeking truth.

This one’s not for the faint of heart. But if you’ve ever wondered whether faith can coexist with complexity, this episode is for you.
