  • Fantasy Baseball Week 6 – The Case to Sell High on Tyler Glasnow
    May 8 2026

Tyler Glasnow is pitching like an absolute ace, but his history of back issues and a current workload of 140 projected innings make him the ultimate sell-high candidate. Joe and Corey debate whether to flip him now for a slow-starting superstar before the inevitable injury risk catches up to his elite surface stats.

The waiver wire is filled with multi-positional assets this week, including Casey Schmidt, Brooks Lee, and Andrew Vaughn. The guys also look at Brice Matthews, Bryson Stott, and pitchers Payton Tolle and Max Meyer, though they question if these arms are being overlooked in too many leagues.

Agustin Ramirez is officially this week's rage drop after being sent down to Triple-A to work on his defense. Other drops discussed include Jung Hoo Lee, Tanner Bibee, and Emmet Sheehan, with the hosts noting that Sheehan's increased home run rate and hard contact make him someone else's problem.

Rankings risers are led by Brandon Marsh, Jordan Walker, and Mickey Moniak, while Jack Perkins is surging as the potential new lockdown closer for the Athletics. Fallers include Rafael Devers, Luis Robert Jr., Joe Ryan, Spencer Strider, and Bubba Chandler, who is struggling significantly with his command.

In the trade market, Corey Seager and Logan Webb stand out as premier buy-low targets despite their slow starts. Eury Perez remains an upside play, while Oneil Cruz and Justin Wrobleski join Glasnow as players to move now while their value is peaking.

  • First Cup Fantasy Baseball: May 7 – Rankings: Glasnow, Ragens IL Bound?
    May 7 2026

Tyler Glasnow left his start after just one inning with back tightness, and Cole Ragens was pulled after 3 IP with a 3 mph velo drop and left tricep/elbow soreness. Both situations are worth monitoring closely heading into the weekend, and Joe Bond has the fantasy fallout on today's episode.

Joe runs through the Rankings Risers and Fallers, with Brandon Marsh, Jordan Walker, Mickey Moniak, and Jack Perkins trending up, while Zach Neto, Luis Robert Jr., Joe Ryan, Spencer Strider, and Bubba Chandler are trending down. Rafael Devers shows up on both sides of the ledger.

On Studs and Duds, Andy Pages, Marcus Semien, Rafael Devers, Andrew Vaughn, Jack Flaherty, Bryan Woo, Paul Skenes, and Shane McClanahan stood out, while Munetaka Murakami, Bryce Eldridge, Teoscar Hernandez, and Gunnar Henderson had rough outings.

Today's FanDuel Bet of the Day features Nico Hoerner at 2+ Hits, Runs, and RBI at -160, or the longer shot at 3+ for +140.

Tarik Skubal has loose bodies in his elbow and will require surgery, making him the biggest and most painful fantasy story on today's episode of First Cup Fantasy Baseball with host Corey Pieper.

On the Bullpen Report today, Corey covers the Philadelphia closer situation and the expected activation of Jhoan Duran. Plus, a quick rundown of the other murky situations around the league.

  • First Cup Fantasy Baseball: May 3 – Waiver Wire: Ronald Acuna to the IL
    May 4 2026

Ronald Acuna Jr. is heading to the 10-day IL with a hamstring injury, and that's the biggest roster-shaking story on today's episode of First Cup Fantasy Baseball with host Corey Pieper.

On the waiver wire today, Corey covers Andrew Vaughn (34%), Max Meyer (28%), Logan Henderson (19%), Nick Gonzales (13%), and Connor Prielipp (12%) as the top targets to pick up.

Studs this weekend included Emerson Hancock's 14-strikeout gem, Max Meyer going seven innings with one hit, Cody Bellinger going 4-for-4 with two homers, and William Contreras putting up back-to-back four-hit games. On the dud side, Rhett Lowder, Zac Gallen, Chase Dollander, and Bryan Woo all had ugly outings.

The injury list is long this week — Ryan Helsley has elbow inflammation, Ranger Suarez left his start early with a hamstring issue, Joe Ryan left after one batter with elbow discomfort, Ronny Mauricio is out 6-8 weeks with a fractured thumb, and Ryan Pepiot is done for the year with hip surgery. Don't miss the FanDuel Bet of the Day — Yankees -1.5 at +106 with Schlitter vs. Baz.

  • First Cup Fantasy Baseball: May 1 – Two-Start/Weekend: Cavalli Start, Skenes Dud
    May 1 2026

Paul Skenes lands in the dud column on today's First Cup Fantasy Baseball, while Logan Webb, Cristopher Sanchez, and Bailey Ober all earn studs recognition. Host Joe Bond runs through his Two-Start Pitchers and Weekend Planner segment to help you set your roster heading into the weekend.

On the Two-Start/Weekend Planner, Cade Cavalli and Tyler Glasnow both get the start nod, while Bubba Chandler and Nick Martinez are questionable. Jack Flaherty is a sit, and Aaron Nola and Chase Dollander are streaming options.

In studs and duds, Kyle Schwarber, Adley Rutschman, MJ Melendez, and Spencer Steer join Webb, Sanchez, and Ober as studs. On the dud side, Samuel Basallo, Hunter Goodman, Vinnie Pasquantino, Lance McCullers Jr., and Kevin Gausman join Skenes.

On the injury and news front, Brandon Woodruff was removed with diminished velo, Tyler Soderstrom missed a second straight day, and Jeffrey Springs was removed with a hip injury but is expected to make his next start. Nick Kurtz walked for a 19th straight game, now just three away from tying the all-time record held by Roy Cullenbine in 1947.

Today's FanDuel Bet of the Day is Zack Wheeler over 7 strikeouts vs. Miami at +102. Wheeler threw 84 pitches last game with 6 Ks in 5 innings, and figures to push into the 6th against Miami with a higher pitch count.

  • Fantasy Baseball Week 5 – Duran Rage Drop, Murakami Sell High
    May 1 2026

Munetaka Murakami is the biggest sell high of the fantasy baseball season so far, and Joe Bond and Corey Pieper both agree you should be moving him right now for legitimate top-tier talent before the league figures out how to pitch to him.

On the waiver wire add side, AJ Applegarth and Joe run through Nolan Arenado, Cole Young, Moises Ballesteros, JR Ritchie, Chase Dollander, Foster Griffin, and Spencer Arrighetti. AJ was skeptical on Arenado while Joe and Corey are riding the hot bat, and Dollander gets the strongest endorsement of the group despite sitting at just 46% rostership.

Jarren Duran is the rage drop of the week, with Joe keeping him for now but benching him in every league — Corey and Joe went deep on why he simply cannot be started right now despite the massive upside. Also on the drop list: Luis Castillo, Giancarlo Stanton, and Eugenio Suarez.

Rankings risers this week include Mike Trout, Randy Arozarena, Josh Jung, Jose Soriano, Nolan McLean, Bryan Baker, and Louie Varland. Falling down the board: Jarren Duran, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Rafael Devers, Devin Williams, Aaron Nola, Salvador Perez, and Logan Gilbert.

Corey leads the buy low and sell high segment. Buy low targets are Ketel Marte, Freddie Freeman, and Matthew Boyd — all three have strong underlying numbers that do not match their surface stats. The sell highs are JJ Wetherholt, Mickey Moniak, and Murakami, with Joe and Corey both making the case that Murakami hype is at its peak and you can flip him for serious value right now.
