About this listen

Owning a business is not a linear journey and the number of areas you have to become an expert in overnight can be overwhelming. Join me in my "let's grab a coffee" show about creating and succeeding in the small business world. I'm a CPA who has figured things out the hard way. I've grown and then realized scaling back was my sweet spot. I've struggled with the insane world of social media, and commiserated with thousands of clients over ever-changing tax rules. I'm keeping it real and simplifying things that shouldn't be so complicated to begin with. You don't have to put up with clients crossing boundaries. You CAN save taxes like the big businesses. And your numbers should be your friend, not the boogie man lurking behind a spreadsheet. Grab a latte', find a quiet spot to listen, and let's build something great together. While you're here, leave me a request for future episodes. I'd love to hear what matters most to you.Copyright Empowered Entrepreneur Network LLC Economics Leadership Management & Leadership

  • Your Permission Slip (and Motivation) for Setting Boundaries in Your Business
    Sep 17 2025

I was trained in a world with no healthy boundaries between the office, clients, and my personal life. I took those bad habits into my own business when I created it. And came to regret it.

Boundaries are healthy and necessary in a profitable and sustainable business. Join me as I walk you through my very painful habits, and even more painful processes in setting new boundaries with clients.

The payoff was greater than I imagined in the type of clients I now onboard, the number of hours I work, and the money I make. Join me on the inside!

  • Beating Your Banker at the Lending Game
    Sep 16 2025

It can seem like bankers hate self-employed individuals when it comes to requesting lending to buy a home or invest in your business. Lenders don't hate you, but they can make you rethink your decision to request the loan in the first place.

I was recently able to secure funding in less than a week and a half. I don't have millions of dollars, or tons of assets to pledge. What I did have was a working knowledge of bankers and underwriters and the lending process. I was able to stay 2 steps ahead of the banker at all times and to send over requested documentation within minutes to keep the ball rolling.

You can do the same. Join me for all the secrets to getting your financial ducks in a row and getting your banker to apologize to you for asking for too much. It's a great feeling!
