About this listen
This sermon teaches that poverty and wealth do not determine a person’s faith, because God’s grace comes from Him alone and not from life circumstances. God often allows His people to be poor to show His power, teach gratitude, strengthen faith, and give believers chances to show love through helping others. Christians are commanded to remember the poor by caring for them, praying for them, and giving generously, because serving the poor is one way of serving Christ Himself.
A sermon delivered by Charles Spurgeon on September 25th, 1856.
