About this listen

Two besties. Endless true crime curiosity. An alarming number of cookies.

The Cookie Case Files is where our love for storytelling meets our obsession with snacks, as we blend gripping case deep-dives with weekly cookie reviews.

Each episode, we unravel a different true crime case: sharing the details, the context, and the human stories that deserve to be heard, while taste-testing a cookie that may or may not pair perfectly with each mystery. Our conversations are equal parts compassionate, curious, and a little bit sweet (literally).

With a shared passion for advocacy and spreading awareness, we use this podcast to highlight the voices of victims, discuss important issues, and shine a light where it’s most needed. And of course, we never forget the treats that keep us going.

So grab a cookie, settle in, and join us as we discuss every last crumb related to true crime.

  • Cookie Case 1: The Disappearance of Brandon Swanson
    Aug 26 2025

Welcome to the very first episode of The Cookie Case Files! In this debut, we introduce ourselves, share what this podcast is all about, and set the stage for the cases to come.

Our first story is the puzzling disappearance of Brandon Swanson, a 19-year-old college student from Marshall, Minnesota, who vanished on May 14, 2008. After accidentally driving his car into a ditch late at night, Brandon called his parents for help. While on the phone with them, he suddenly exclaimed “Oh, shit!”—and the line went silent. Despite extensive searches, Brandon has never been found, and his case remains one of Minnesota’s most haunting mysteries.

We’ll walk you through the details of that night, the ongoing search efforts, and the questions that still linger more than a decade later.
