Hartford hits 66 degrees by mid-afternoon — that's springlike warmth you weren't expecting. The coast stays cooler at 58 thanks to ocean breezes. Eastern Connecticut splits the difference at 57. Light south winds gust to 21 miles an hour inland. Tonight reality checks back in. Lows drop to 35 in Hartford, 37 along the coast, 36 out east. Patchy fog develops after 2 A.M., especially near the shoreline. Tuesday cranks up the heat even more. Hartford reaches 72 degrees — flirting with record territory. The coast stays cooler at 61 thanks to onshore flow. Eastern areas see 59. Morning fog clears by 10 A.M., then sunshine takes over. Wednesday brings clouds back as moisture streams north. Highs reach the mid-50s to low 60s, with a slight chance of showers. The real action arrives Wednesday night into Thursday. Rain moves in, likely heavy at times, before a cold front sweeps through Thursday morning. That front could bring a brief mix of rain and snow on its back edge, especially inland. Winds gust to 28 miles an hour. Friday turns noticeably cooler — highs only in the low 40s — with lingering snow showers possible in higher terrain.
