Then, the big big boss man of F1’s McLaren Zak Brown popped in to talk about the release of his book ‘Seven Tenths Of A Second', sharing some behind the scene stories from McLaren as he rides the high of Lando’s recent win.

Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim, joined us on Zoom with huge news that The Rolling Stones have finally cleared Satisfaction Skank for release, after nearly 30 years!! He also confessed to sometimes abandoning the decks mid-gig to dive into the crowd!

And finally, Jimmy Carr came in to chat about his brand new film, drop some wisdom about live comedy and of course, unleash that famous laugh of his.

And we’re really spoiling you this week because there’s MORE….!

We had Jack Whitehall in to talk about his appearance in brand new series Malice, a distasteful psychological thriller where he plays an unlikely villain. He discusses what it was like being involved in a project different to his usual work.

    Nov 7 2025

    Go and vote for Po-ol-ly

What a guest bonanza it was this week! We had five guests come in this week to chat about all kinds of things from making Stephen Hawking laugh, to being on the Traitors, to y’know… being the England football manager.

That’s right, Gareth Southgate was in to talk about his new book Dear England: Lessons in Leadership. He gave us some insights into what his career really looked like behind the scenes, from being a young inexperienced manager at Middlesbrough F.C., to facing the pressure of taking England to the finals.

We also had Kate Garraway in the studio chatting about all things Celebrity Traitors. She spoke about how much trickier it was actually being on compared to being a fan and watching the show at home. She also spoke on how helpful it was for her mentally, being able to throw herself fully into the show after going through such challenging times recently.

Friend of the show, Alex James from Blur was also in to chat about his upcoming slew of dates for his incredible Britpop Classical. Russell Howard also spoke about his upcoming dates and the thrill he gets from seeing his friends succeed in their own varied careers. Edgar Wright was also in this week, promoting his upcoming film The Running Man. He spoke about the process of his film’s creation, from his inception of the idea when he was fourteen, to the film’s eventual release. He also told of a curious superstition he has regarding his movies’s premieres.

    Oct 31 2025

Did you dress up this Halloween?

With the full team back in the studio, we had a busy week with guests, pranks and other silly chat! We also gave some tickets away to the Radio X is Ten gig taking place in Manchester this coming Monday.

The first guest we had this week was Sara Pascoe. She came in to chat about her ongoing I Am A Strange Gloop live standup tour. She also asked Dom lots of questions about his standup performance at the Rode Comedy Festival they both performed at a few months ago.

Next on the show we had the legendary Tom Daley who came in to chat about The Game of Wool, a competitive knitting show that he is hosting, that airs this Sunday evening. Tom was also able to shed light on the inner workings of The Celebrity Traitors and answer the deluge of questions Chris threw at him about the show!

We were then graced with the presence of the wonderful clairvoyant Clinton Baptiste. Clinton spoke about his upcoming live show: Spectral Intercourse that is touring the UK, where he will “receive the audience’s queries and earth-bound dilemmas” and “reach out to spirits for answers.” On the show, he managed to get in contact with one of Dom’s old romantic partners and the details she shared were… frightening.

Oh but there’s more, so much more:

    • The big prank on Polly
    • Intern Louis not knowing who Emma Bunton is
    • Dom’s ring-a-ding-ding

    Enjoy!

  • Mumford & Sons, Vicky McClure and Russell Tovey #518
    Oct 24 2025

What’s the weirdest situation you’ve listened to Radio X in?

Chris was off this week so Toby stepped into the breakfast shoes and had just about the silliest show you can imagine. We were also blessed with some awesome guests this week, gave away lots of tickets to upcoming gigs and became privy to Toby’s terrifyingly accurate clairvoyance skills.

The first guest we had this week was the incredibly talented Vicky McClure. She came into the studio to chat about the new season of Trigger Point. She spoke to Toby and the team about the unique experience of working with real-world bomb diffusers on set as they aim to make the show as close to reality as possible. What she didn’t expect coming into the studio this week however, was to be playing a game that involved delivering electric shocks to producer John.

Next, Russell Tovey popped into the studio to talk about his new book: Art School (in a book): A future artist's guide to contemporary Art. He spoke about the inaccessibility of the art world for an outsider and how intimidating it can be. He also said that art is for everyone and that his new book is a way of helping young people bridge this gap. Oh and he also chatted about silly things too like how insane it was voicing Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents.

Finally we had the legendary Mumford & Sons in the studio chatting to Toby about a host of topics, ranging from their latest single featuring Hozier, to being onstage with Springsteen. They also spoke about other artists they dream of collaborating with, such as Stevie Nicks and Adele.

That’s all for this week, but we have these to offer you before we go:

    • Planning a heist
    • The ceremony at Hayes Bowls Club
    • Couples on their wedding night

    Enjoy!
