• Forgiving - Hello My Name Is - Exodus 34
    Jul 11 2025
There is so much depth to the word "forgive" in Hebrew. It means accept, advance, arise, able to, armor, and even more significantly, "to lift, carry, or take". It has to do with physical lifting, bearing burdens, worship, oath-taking, pastoral care, and of course, forgiveness and atonement. This puts a whole new light around Matthew 11:28-30 - “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest..."

  • Slow to Anger - Hello My Name Is - Exodus 34
    Jul 9 2025
Something motherhood has changed in me is my reaction time - Like when my kid who has food allergies and is about to try something new. I'm quick to stop the eating and check the package. Or when my toddler is nearing something unsafe. And also, I can be quick to get upset too. Thankfully, our Heavenly Father is NOT quick to get angry - That's one of the first things He says when identifying himself to Moses in Exodus 34:5-7.

  • Compassionate and Gracious - Hello My Name Is - Exodus 34
    Jul 8 2025
What adjectives you would use to describe yourself? How do you think God describes himself? I used to think the first words would be something like, "powerful, just, jealous". Exodus 34:5-7 tells us that the FIRST adjectives God uses to describe himself are compassionate and gracious.

  • YHWH - Hello My Name Is - Exodus 34
    Jul 7 2025
How do you introduce yourself? Maybe with your name, job, or something you love. It’s how we let others know who we are. But have you ever wondered how God introduces Himself? In Exodus 34, God tells Moses exactly who He is.

  • Self-Control - Fruit of the Spirit - Galatians 5
    Jul 4 2025
When’s the last time you had to practice some real self-discipline or hold yourself back from taking the easy route? I’ve gone through seasons with my health habits—sometimes I’m consistent, other times not so much. I know I feel better mentally and physically when I move my body, even just a walk, but staying disciplined gets tough when life throws curveballs. Still, building that habit of training—of showing up—is worth it, and that’s what we’re diving into today.

  • Gentleness - Fruit of the Spirit - Galatians 5
    Jul 3 2025
How would you define powerful? Sit with that for a minute. The Greek word for gentleness is prautés (prah-oo'-tace), meaning mildness, humility, meekness. When we remain soft and gentle, we are open to seeing from God's perspective, which is so unlike our own. We're open to understanding life differently outside of our experience. It allows us to be humble, empathetic, and continually growing.

  • Faithfulness - Fruit of the Spirit - Galatians 5
    Jul 2 2025
We're exploring faith today, a deep, unshakable conviction—something more foundational than personal preferences or strong opinions. We'll take a look at the biblical Greek word pistis, which reveals faith as not just belief but a trust-filled response to God's promises, even without full certainty.
