I've seen this question, and many answers on the web, about the feasibility of finding a match on the Internet. But there has to be something more that you should know to make this work out to your advantage.

Many Internet profiles don't mention the person's address, email, phone, age, height, weight, and much else. This is part of a general effort to present a "perfect" image of oneself online, so people will want to contact the individual.

The best online dating sites are the ones where you can have many pictures of yourself available, so you don't have to worry about how you look online. At the very least you need an excellent face and profile picture, and a good picture of your head and shoulders. You also need photos of your work clothes, and how you look in your best clothes. This allows you to do multiple searches. This means that there will be at least two or three times as many matches as there would be with a single picture.

You also have to consider that people searching for a wife, or husband, for example, may be looking for people who share some personality traits, such as a particular age, size, or a particular physical appearance. Thus, it may be possible to find a match online using personality traits rather than searching for a physical match.

Thus, it is not a good idea to send a reply email that says that you will not have community until the person is better looking. On the other hand, if you are willing to take chances, you might find a lot of potential matches, and you might even find one who is willing to take the initiative to go on a date, arrange a second date, etc.
