  • Ep19: How to Move From Anxiety to Agency
    Nov 15 2024

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by the current events, the holiday season, or personal challenges, this episode is packed with insights and practical tools to help you navigate those anxious moments.

Here are three key takeaways from this episode that I believe will help you bring the best of yourself into each moment:

    1. Reframe Anxiety as an Invitation: Instead of viewing anxiety as a negative force, consider it an invitation to grow and learn. Anxiety often signals that something important to you is at stake. By recognizing this, you can shift your perspective and use that energy to fuel positive action. Remember, on the other side of anxiety lies the power to make choices and create change in your life!

    2. Grounding Techniques: One of the most effective ways to combat anxiety is to ground yourself in the present moment. I shared a simple yet powerful exercise called the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique. This involves identifying five things you can see, four things you can touch, three things you can hear, two things you can smell, and one thing you can taste. This practice helps distract your mind from anxious thoughts and brings you back to a place of control and safety.

    3. Take Inspired Action: Anxiety can often lead to paralysis, but taking even the smallest action can create a shift in your mood and mindset. Whether it’s sending a quick email, jotting down your feelings, or simply going for a walk (like you’re doing while listening!), these small steps remind you of your capability to move forward despite anxiety. Remember, the opposite of anxiety is action!

  • Ep 18: How to Use Procrastination as a Compass
    Aug 16 2024
This show is designed to be listened to while on a walk, so put on your favorite sneakers, double tie your shoelaces and then listen to this episode. In this episode, I delve into the concept of procrastination and how it can actually serve as a compass guiding us towards our deepest desires and fears. What if the very things we avoid may actually be pointing us towards something significant. I beleive that procrastination often stems from a lack of clarity, consistency, or confidence. By reframing procrastination as a signal of what truly matters to us, we can uncover valuable insights about our values and fears. Drawing on research from experts in psychology and procrastination, I highlight the emotional aspect of procrastination. It's not about time management but rather it's about managing our emotions and fears. By identifying the underlying emotions behind our procrastination, we can gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and our goals. In this show I offer 5 practical steps to turn procrastination into a tool for personal growth. From identifying emotions to breaking down tasks into manageable steps, each step is designed to help you navigate your procrastination tendencies with intention and clarity. By reframing procrastination as a learning opportunity and taking small, consistent actions, we can move from procrastination to progress. Reflection Questions: What emotions do you feel when you think about the task you are procrastinating on?Why do you think this particular task triggers those particular emotions? What underlying fear or belief might be holding you back from starting this task? What is the smallest action you could take right now to move this task forward? If you were to complete this task successfully, how would it change your current situation or future opportunities? • EP 17: How to Break Your Belief Barrier
    Aug 9 2024

In this episode, I delve into the power of belief and how it shapes our reality, thoughts, actions, and energy.

Together we explore the concept of belief, highlighting how it influences our brain's plasticity and can physically change our brain structure. Drawing from personal experiences, I also share how beliefs can be shaped by our environment, experiences, and the people around us.

As Henry Ford said, "whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right." This episode serves as a reminder to choose beliefs that propel us towards our best possible future and to believe in ourselves as we embark on this journey of growth and self-discovery. Let's challenge our beliefs wisely, take action on those that serve us, and meet ourselves at the intersection of belief and possibility.

The Friday Five Questions We Consider Are:

    • What is one goal you truly believe you can achieve, and why?
    • How do your current beliefs support or your progress towards this goal?
    • How do your current beliefs hinder your progress towards this goal?
    • Think of a time in your past when your belief in yourself was challenged and how did you overcome this challenge?
    • What daily practices can you put into place today that you can use to reinforce more positive beliefs?
