  • Possessed by the Holy Spirit? | The Afterglow Ep. 18
    Apr 11 2026

We’ve all heard people say, “I don’t know what came over me…”

    Usually after something bad.

But what if we’ve been asking the wrong question?

What if that same idea applies to the good moments too?

What if there were times in your life where something came over you…

    and it wasn’t darkness…

What if it was the Holy Spirit?

In this episode of The Afterglow, ⁨@TuneThyHeart⁩ and ⁨@jtfollowsjc⁩ unpack a powerful realization:

We’re quick to blame darkness when we lose control… but we’re just as quick to take credit when something good happens.

    What if both are wrong?

What if God has been moving through you long before you ever recognized Him?

Isaiah 45:4–5 “I call you by your name, I name you, though you do not know me.”

Genesis 20:6 “It was I who kept you from sinning against me.”

Numbers 23:5 “And the Lord put a word in Balaam’s mouth.”

Proverbs 21:1 “The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will.”

This conversation challenges the way we think about:

    • control

    • influence

    • spiritual encounters

    • and the unseen ways God intervenes in our lives

Because not every encounter with God looks dramatic.

    Sometimes it looks like:

    • stopping when you were about to go too far

    • choosing mercy when you could’ve reacted in anger

    • helping someone when it made no sense

    • feeling conviction out of nowhere

    • being used in a moment you can’t explain

    Maybe that wasn’t just you.

    Maybe that was Him.

  • What If Weakness Is the Doorway? | The Afterglow Ep. 17
    Apr 4 2026

What if the thing you’ve been trying to hide…is actually the place God wants to meet you?The world teaches us to avoid weakness.Be strong.Be in control.Handle it alone.Never let them see you struggle. But Scripture says something completely different. In this episode of The Afterglow, @TuneThyHeart and @jtfollowsjc unpack the truth about weakness, pride, surrender, and why the very place you feel most exposed might actually be the doorway to God’s power.2 Corinthians 12:9–10“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness… For when I am weak, then I am strong.”James 4:6“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”Proverbs 3:5–6“Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and he will make straight your paths.”Weakness doesn’t disqualify you.It positions you.It reveals where you’ve been relying on yourself…and invites you to finally surrender.Because weakness with Godis stronger than anything you could ever build without Him.If you need prayer, drop it in the comments. • Obedience Over Clarity | The Afterglow Ep. 16
    Apr 4 2026

#ObedienceOverClarity #TheAfterglow #EchoesOfTruthYou don’t need the full picture to follow Jesus. You need obedience. In this episode of The Afterglow, @TuneThyHeart and @jtfollowsjc break down one of the hardest truths in the Christian walk:God often asks for your obedience… before He gives you clarity. We want the full plan.We want confirmation. We want to understand where it’s all going. But faith doesn’t work like that.Psalm 119:105“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”Not a floodlight. Not the whole staircase.Just enough for the next step.Hebrews 11:8“By faith Abraham obeyed… not knowing where he was going.”That’s real faith. This episode dives into: • Why God rarely reveals the full plan • How obedience builds real faith • Why discomfort is often part of your calling • How your current position actually matters more than you think • The danger of waiting for clarity before movingWhat feels random to you… is intentional to Him.What feels delayed… is being developed. And what feels uncomfortable… is often where growth happens. You don’t need to see the whole staircase. You just need to take the next step.If you need prayer, encouragement, or direction, drop it in the comments. • Get Back Up | The Afterglow Ep. 15
    Mar 21 2026

Sometimes the biggest battle isn’t the mistake. It’s what happens after. In this episode of The Afterglow, @TuneThyHeart and @jtfollowsjc talk about failure, forgiveness, discipline, grace, and why the enemy wants to keep people trapped in shame long after Jesus has already unlocked the door. It’s not a question of if we’re going to stumble. It’s a question of when. The issue is not whether we fall. The issue is whether we stay there.Too many people are sitting in jail cells with the door already open.Jesus already unlocked it.He already opened it.He’s already standing there with His hand extended. But shame, self-punishment, and unbelief keep people sitting in places they’ve already been forgiven to leave. This episode is about learning to receive His grace, get back up, and keep moving forward.Psalm 145:14“The Lord upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down.”Hebrews 12:1–2“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith.”2 Corinthians 12:9“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Following Jesus does not mean pretending sin is no big deal.It means learning how to repent quickly, receive forgiveness, and keep your eyes fixed forward instead of living in constant self-condemnation.Because grace is not something you earn. It’s something you receive. If you need prayer, encouragement, or guidance, comment below. • Jesus Hated Religion | The Afterglow Ep. 14
    Mar 14 2026

One of the most common things people say when the name Jesus comes up is:“I’m not really into religion.”But the truth is… neither was Jesus. In this episode of The Afterglow, @TuneThyHeart and @jtfollowsjc discuss the difference between religion and relationship, why many people reject Jesus because they misunderstand Him, and how real faith is not about rule-keeping but about love, trust, and intimacy with God.Jesus did not come to start a religion. He came to restore a relationship between humanity and God.Religion focuses on rituals.Relationship focuses on the heart. When Jesus walked the earth, the people He confronted the most were not sinners… but religious leaders who had turned faith into control, tradition, and empty performance.Matthew 15:8–9 (ESV)“This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.”1 John 5:3 (ESV)“For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.”Isaiah 59:2 (ESV)“But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God.”James 1:22 (ESV)“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”John 13:35 (ESV)“By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”Following Jesus is not about religious performance. It’s about transformation. When you truly encounter the love of Jesus, it changes everything.Your heart changes.Your priorities change.Your relationships change.Because once you experience His love… you cannot help but give that love to others. If you need prayer, encouragement, or guidance, comment below. • Are You Comfortable in the Wilderness? | The Afterglow Ep. 13
    Mar 7 2026

Sometimes the wilderness isn’t where God left us.

Sometimes it’s where we stay… because we keep clinging to the very things He’s asking us to lay down.

In this episode of The Afterglow, TuneThyHeart and JTfollowsJC discuss wilderness seasons, idols of the heart, generational cycles, and why sometimes the very things harming us are the things we keep returning to because they feel familiar.

When God brought the Israelites out of Egypt, the wilderness was never meant to be their permanent home.

The journey to the Promised Land should have taken about eleven days.

But because of unbelief… because of complaining… because they kept turning back to the very things God was trying to deliver them from…

That eleven-day journey turned into forty years.

And when you really sit with that story, it raises a powerful question:

Have we become comfortable in the wilderness?

How often is the Holy Spirit asking us to lay something down… and we delay that freedom for years?

    A habit.

    A relationship.

    A coping mechanism.

A sin we keep returning to.

    Hebrews 3:18–19 (ESV)

“And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.”

    Numbers 14:33–34 (ESV)

“And your children shall be shepherds in the wilderness forty years and shall suffer for your faithlessness, until the last of your dead bodies lies in the wilderness.”

    1 Corinthians 10:6–7 (ESV)

“Now these things took place as examples for us, that we might not desire evil as they did. Do not be idolaters as some of them were.”

    Ezekiel 14:3 (ESV)

“These men have taken their idols into their hearts.”

    John 8:34 (ESV)

“Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.”

    Joshua 24:14 (ESV)

“Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served.”

    2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

    Galatians 5:1 (ESV)

“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.”

    Isaiah 43:18–19 (ESV)

“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing.”

    John 8:36 (ESV)

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

    Deuteronomy 5:33 (ESV)

“You shall walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may go well with you.”

God didn’t bring you out of Egypt just to leave you wandering.

    The Promised Land lies ahead.

But sometimes the hardest part of the journey… is letting God remove Egypt from our hearts.
