About this listen

Good morning. Tennessee. I'm Michael Nally. If you stepped outside early, you felt that drizzle still hanging on from overnight. We picked up about a quarter inch, but the showers are wrapping up as a cold front pushes through. East Tennessee stays wettest the longest. Rain continues through mid-afternoon with an a chance before tapering off. You'll hit 70 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. Tonight drops to 53 with partly cloudy conditions. Middle Tennessee dries out faster. A a chance of showers before 1 P.M., then mostly cloudy with highs near 68. Tonight clears to partly cloudy with lows around 50. West Tennessee sees the quickest turnaround. A a chance of showers before 8 A.M., then mostly sunny skies take over. Highs reach 69 degrees. Tonight turns mostly clear with lows around 53. Monday brings sunshine back statewide. East Tennessee reaches 76 degrees. Middle Tennessee warms to 79 with full sunshine. West Tennessee sees partly sunny skies with highs around 75 and a a chance of afternoon thunderstorms developing. Monday night brings scattered storms and lows in the upper 50s to mid 60s. Now here's your week ahead. Tuesday brings widespread storms with highs in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees. Wednesday is the most active day — showers and thunderstorms likely as a strong cold front sweeps through. Some storms could pack gusty winds. And rainfall totals could exceed an inch statewide. Thursday turns sharply cooler behind the front. Highs only reach the mid 50s with clearing skies. Friday through Saturday rebounds to the upper 60s and low 70s under mostly sunny skies. One heads up before we go — spring forward tonight. Clocks move ahead one hour for Daylight Saving Time. See you this afternoon.
