Fighting Temptation
- SCRIPTURE Jesus fights temptation w/scripture (Mat. 4 when he was led in the wilderness)
- PRAYER “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” Mat. 6:13
- On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.” Luke 22:40
Important verses
- 1 Corinthians 10:13 - “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
- Hebrews 4:15 “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.”
How have we personally fought temptation?
Pray before all situations possibly leading to temptation. God provides a way out.
Accountability - Have brothers/sisters ur close w/check in on you. Pray for each other & hold each other accountable.
James 5:16 - “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
