The story of God our Provider. Many are familiar with the story of Abraham and Isaac and the parallels to the story of God sending His Son. Abraham takes his one and only son to Mt Moriah, where Jesus later will be crucified. Isaac carries the wood for the altar, much like Jesus carried His own cross. And while Abraham sees a ram as the substitute for Isaac, God sends Jesus AS the substitute for US! He took on death and the grave for you and for me. And even now, one thing remains the same- God is asking Abraham (and us) to trust the Promiser more than the promise.

I heard my friend Nikkita's testimony and immediately knew this would resonate with so many of you, like it did with me. Nikkita's story is one of forgiveness, healing, restoration, and continued pursuit of a loving God. I've heard the quote, "you can't control how people treat you, but you can control how you react to it". In this episode, you'll hear how Nikkita chose, and still chooses, a surrendered life of love towards those who caused pain, and how God truly does bring beauty from brokenness! The Lord is Peace. The meaning of Shalom is that through God, we can have a sound mind. Often we think of God as an authority just waiting to strike judgement on us; but through this story of Gideon's encounter, we see that God is there and waiting to reveal Himself to Gideon in order to strengthen and encourage him in rescuing Israel from their oppressors.
