About this listen

Welcome to the GINTERVIEWS podcast! A podcast where performer, writer and Irish-Londoner Kerry Fitzgerald interviews amazing creatives over incredible gins and they try desperately to stay on track.

It's like the Always Sunny podcast had a baby with Hot Ones, a baby who has been left with their alcoholic mother while daddy goes out of town on a 'work trip'.

Recorded in London. Until we all move to Mars.

    CLAXONNNNN!!!

Want to be a writer? Listen to this!

After talking about him in no fewer than THREE other episodes, she got him... THE Simon Stephens sits and talks about creativity with Kerry, over some absolutely delicious Beckett's single malt English whisky.

They waffle! They backtrack! They get interrupted by a gorgeous dog!

It's the opposite of AI slop, it's unfiltered messy human interaction - and if you look closely you can see several moments where Kerry comes out of her own body with excitement and/or nerves and/or gratitude.

There's even behind the scenes stuff like Ed telling them they're 'being too depressing'!

Watch to the end for a BONUS interview with the fantastic and hilarious Scarlett Stephens, where she dishes the dirt on the three most annoying things about her dad (hint, they aren't annoying they are adorable).

    Simon's Bio:

Simon Stephens is perhaps best known for his stage adaptation of the novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, for which he won the 2015 Tony Award for Best Play.

Stephens has staged close to three dozen plays over two decades, including the critically acclaimed Pornography (2007), Punk Rock (2009) and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (2012), which premiered at the National Theatre and later toured on the West End and Broadway. It went onto win seven Olivier awards, then the equal record for a single play.

Many recent works, including The Funfair (2015) and Fatherland (2017) have premiered in Manchester theatres. Stephens also currently works as Artistic Associate at the Lyric Theatre and Associate Playwright at the Royal Court.
