 TW! TW! TW! Mention of childhood trauma and violent rape and abuse of a disabled person! TW! TW! TW! Also, I’m recording from my phone and unable to edit, so I apologize. A “glass child” is the sibling of a person who has extra needs or who requires special supports, and who may feel unseen or overshadowed by their siblings needs—as if they feel see-through like glass. I am a glass child, because of an alleged birth injury my sister incurred upon being delivered. That story on its own is very questionable, but more on that later. This is part one of my sister’s story that I’ve never told. This is only about my sister’s trauma. This is to humanize her by sharing her experiences, both dark and light. But I’m doing a part 2 about who she was as a human being. It will be called: Her Name Was Damaris (pt 2). Her name deserves to be said.
