A dispute between others escalated into gunfire, and four bystanders were shot. D’Asia was critically wounded and later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Police released surveillance video showing three persons of interest, including one seen discarding a rifle while fleeing the area, but no arrests have been announced. Months later, her family filed a wrongful death lawsuit tied to the location, and the investigation remains open.
