• The Meat Sweats
    Aug 25 2025

This week on the poddy, the All Blacks have one too many scotch fillets in Buenos Aires and succumb to some serious indigestion against a rampant Pumas side. Will Jordan has his worst game in the All Blacks jersey - and we all thought he was invincible!

The Ranfurly Shield is heading off to Hamilton, as one old veteran, replaces another old veteran, to stage a second half comeback in Taranaki. The Taniwha make history but smashing a woeful Auckland side at yet another empty Eden Park. Bay of Plenty and Wellington have fallen off the wagon, and boys are not happy. All in all, a pretty average week for the Super Smack team. Oh and the Springboks beat the Wallabies, which was bound to happen after last week’s upheaval.

  • How to Dethrone a King
    Aug 18 2025

This week on the poddy, the Wallabies have done what pretty much nobody thought they could - they’ve slain the King on the doorstep of his own bloody castle. Wallabies 38 - Springboks 22 at Ellis Park! Will they do it again next week or will the green machine come remember they’re world champions? The All Blacks continue their winning ways with a pretty convincing victory over the Pumas in Argentina, albeit a bit scrappy.

It looks like this year’s Rugby Championship could be anyone’s trophy to claim. Watch this space!

  • Sir Richie of Mo’unga
    Aug 10 2025
This week on the pod, the title says it all - Richie Mo’unga is back, and we’re happy about it. Who will miss out now that he’s back on home turf? All Black debutant Leroy Carter almost misses the plain to Buenos Aries, with the wrong kind of dog ears on his passport. Another powerhouse Crusader makes a triumphant return to NZ rugby. And some solid wins from some very solid teams - essentially just Bay of Plenty and Wellington - give an early indication of who might the lift the trophy this year. Next week the All Blacks are back taking on Argentina in Round One of the Rugby Championship. Tune in!

  • The Lion Sleeps Tonight
    Aug 6 2025
On the poddy this week, the lads discuss the torrential downpour of a finale to the Lions’ Australian tour, as the Wallabies get the last word and send the Lions back to the UK with a bit less wag in their tail. They say lightning never strikes twice, but did it even strike once? - we discuss the bonkers 40 minute time-out for the lightning that never came. We dissect the new All Blacks squad naming for the rugby championship - who misses out and who gets lucky. And the NPC takes the boys completely by surprise, with a scintillating opening round of footy, and proves well and truly that rugby never sleeps.

  • The Hugest of Huge Calls
    Jul 27 2025
On this week’s pod, the boys break down the second Lions test in Australia, and despite a valiant and inspiring effort from the Wallabies, the lads from the North clinch the series - amid huge controversy. The Aussies are absolutely fuming and it begs the question - does anyone actually know the rules of rugby, or are we all just taking a stab in the dark?

  • Le Coq - 3 ways
    Jul 20 2025
On the Pod this week the boys review the final game of the All Blacks vs France series. Who’s cemented their black jersey? And who’s left to sweat in the lead up to Razor naming his squad for the upcoming rugby championship? We chat about the various injuries and niggles floating around the All Blacks camp and just how long Beaudy will be nursing his hand before he returns to the golf course. We muse on the opening test of the Lion’s series in Australia, and try to figure out how the many kiwis in the Lions team would have feared if they’d stayed on NZ shores. And we wonder just how the solitary cock made its way onto the FMG pitch on Saturday night. All this and more!

    Jul 14 2025
On the pod this week, the boys discuss the second week of the July internationals. The All Blacks set the record straight with a dominant first half display against the French to lock up the series. We discuss who should be in and who gets left out for Game 3. Wales finally end the pain by clinching their first victory in 644 days, against a valiant Japanese side. Tony Brown is obviously enjoying a braai or two over in Cape Town, as the Springboks wipe their arse with a lacklustre Italian side. And what on earth was Rieko doing sniffing his finger? All this and more!

    Jul 7 2025
On the first episode of Super Smack Internationals, the boys discuss a narrow win from the All Blacks over a supposedly weak French ‘B’ team, and how the old foe almost snuck one past us…again. We ask, are we too arrogant as a rugby nation and what is Razor’s comeback plan? We chat about the great Barrett dynasty and Francis Douglas Memorial and the boys devise a solution to cauliflower ear. We also dissect the internationals matches from around the world and take a deep dive into what is happening to Welsh rugby, as the once mighty dragons hit a record 18 losses in a row after succumbing to Japan.
