    Hi Everyone,

Finally getting to post part 2 of this episode (sorry for the wait, been trying to juggle uni and podcasting and it's gotten a little hectic!).

    Questions asked in this episode:

Why do you think fluency should be no longer linked to stuttering and why should we move away from fluency (0:47)

How did it affect your childhood + how did doing severity charts impact you? (17:07)

Do you have any advice for teenagers at school? (35:37)

Why did you start and create stutterology? (43:50)

    2 Truths and Lie (50:33)

  • Episode 15: Parenting in the New Age of Stuttering - how Talking Town Books came to be as an SLP and Mom of a child who stutters: Part Two
    Aug 27 2023

    Hi Everyone

It's been a while since I've posted an episode, but this is a great episode to be back! This is part two of my conversation with Mackenzie!

Today I am joined with Mackenzie from Talking Town Books. Mackenzie is a paediatric speech-language pathologist who specialises in the birth to five-year old population. Her journey to becoming a children's book author was a fated one! As her oldest child, Vaughan, began stuttering, Mackenzie and her husband knew they wanted a way to talk to him about his stutter that felt informative, celebratory and also engaging. The dream of Daniel the Digger and the Talking Town Crew grew from there - and the rest is history! Mackenzie hopes that Daniel's story inspires readers young and old to celebrate their own differences and to be a friend to hose who need one!

If you enjoyed this episode, please share it with your friends and family! If you could also rate and review this page as well, that would be greatly appreciated!
