“Walking with God in a Fallen World”
Genesis 5 (ESV)
Genesis 5 unfolds in a world marked by sin and death, a repeated reminder that the consequences of the fall are real and inescapable. Generation after generation is listed, each ending with the same sobering refrain: “and he died.” Yet in the middle of that pattern, one life stands out.
Enoch walked with God.
While the world around him moved steadily toward death, Enoch lived by faith, demonstrating that closeness with God is possible even in a fallen world. His life reminds us that faithfulness is not determined by our surroundings, but by our daily walk with the Lord. Darkness may be widespread, but devotion still shines.
