About this listen
Please note: this series contains adult themes, strong language and scenes which some people may find upsetting. Listener discretion is advised.
One woman’s fiercely vivid account of being stalked, an 'invisible violence' that poisons her life.
When X sees Lily on stage, he begins an imaginary affair of 13 years, and counting. He’s crossed oceans, posed as her colleague. He even bought a suit for their 'wedding'. But they’ve never met.
Dancer and film-maker Lily Baldwin takes us into her world – the insidious fear, legal challenges, survival techniques. This series asks what’s at stake when we’re seen.
We want followers but we don’t want to be followed. And, without obvious blood, how can we measure this invisible violence?
A Ventureland production for Audible Originals.
Useful resources if you or a friend/family member is being stalked:
If you are in immediate danger or fear a threat of harm, call your national police emergency number.
Lily advises: 'We started STOP STALKING US because there was not enough guidance on where and how to get help. This is what we want to change. While that change is happening, we are sharing the best advice available from experts, while acknowledging that not all options are available to everyone in an equitable way. This needs to change, too.
If you are being stalked, we recommend you begin talking with law enforcement to create a log of evidence. Stalking laws and definitions differ from country to country and state to state, so local law enforcement can help you determine your next steps. For statistics to be accurate, we need stalking to be reported.
We’re sharing below helpful resources for some regions with programs in operation.'

Excellent

But personally I prefer slightly less flowery writing. Less seemingly romanticized expression. Its too much in such a small space of time. But, it's not my life experience so I can only go by what's presented. Still it's a vitally important subject and needs more attention.
worth the listen.
