 Der Nebel hängt wie ein Schleier über den alten Mauern des Klosters Altenberg, als ich durch das herbstliche Bergische Land fahre. Die gotischen Türme ragen gespenstisch aus dem Grau hervor, und ich kann nicht umhin zu denken, dass diese Atmosphäre perfekt zu dem Fall passt, der mich hierher gerufen hat. Mein Name ist Mark Brenner, Kommissar bei der Kölner Mordkommission, und ich bin auf dem Weg zu einem Tatort, der Geschichte und Gegenwart auf tragische Weise verbindet.
