This may be the first lady who was not born in Australia; however, her contributions to science, botany, art, and history deemed her to have her own mini. Mind you, I could have written a full-on episode on this lady!

She fled a war! She spent time in a detention centre! She was awesome!

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people should be aware that this episode will contain names of deceased persons. Associated social media will contain names and images of deceased persons.

With the end of NAIDOC week, I decided to look up some early Aboriginal gardeners; however, this proved a wee bit difficult. I chat about why this is the case. Also speak about two ladies who were quoted to have a vast knowledge of plants, the environment, and their uses. Please check out the show notes if you're interested in reading more about the day-to-day lives of these women.

50 years ago was the first scientific source acknowledged the first peoples of Australia and their understanding of the plant world.
