About this listen

The Station Arcadia podcast tells stories from a dystopian world where dieselpunk, steampunk, cyberpunk and solarpunk societies all exist side by side. These diverse stories are told through a radio station on a shifting island, and given voice to by the Station's Host - Kass. Woven through each stand-alone story are threads that come together to tell the story of a revolution, and hope in the face of a dying world. Also, it's queer. Station Arcadia is now cancelled, but still releasing bonus content for now. Listen from the start for the full picture, or jump in anywhere to make life interesting. Transcripts and additional information are available at https://stationarcadia.wixsite.com/podcast. You can talk to us on Twitter and Tumblr @StationArcadia. If you feel the urge to give financially, our tip jar is https://tips.pinecast.com/jar/station-arcadia, and all money goes to the cast and crew. • Was It Worth It?
    Oct 6 2025

The biggest question I’ve asked myself about Station Arcadia over the years is “Why am I doing this?”. This is also something that Kass questions.

How do we measure the value of our actions? How do we judge if something is ‘worth it’? A worthy use of time, of effort… If we can only know in retrospect, based on how it turns out, then we’ll never, ever, know whether our choices in the present moment are actually “worth it”. So that can’t be the right way to measure…

It’s intensely gratifying that as of September 2025, Station Arcadia has accumulated over 200 000 listens. We also won a few internet podcast awards, received fan-art and commentary, and even presented at a (virtual) convention once. We earned enough money through merch and our patreon to pay cast and crew members a non embarrassing honorarium. I’m extremely proud of how far we came. I tried to honour the arcpod team in wrapping up the project as I have.

Maybe that answers my question. I'm not sure.

Transcription -> Hey listeners, what's up, it's Eli, station arcadia podcast producer and Your gay best friend. I've got a couple events I want to tell you about:

The first one is an arcpod thing. This coming Friday, September 26th, will be the premier an hour long episode called "What We Had Planned" in which I read through our notes and editorialize about what would have been next in the story of Station Arcadia. If that seems in any way intriguing, I'd like to invite you join the youtube chat of the premier where me and J.R Steele are going to be hanging out and shooting the shit. You can ask any questions you have, you can react live, you can lurk and watch the bants, whatever floats your moving island. This is Friday September 26th, 2025, at 6pm pacific time, 9pm eastern, Europeans I Am sorry. Our youtube channel is Metal Steve Productions.

The second event is not an arcpod thing, it's just an Eli moment. I'm going to be the featured performer at a poetry open mic night in Vancouver, British Columbia, on October 13th. If you happen to be in the area, you are so very invited, entry by donation. I'm going to be doing a 30 minute set of original poems and a bit of music. I'm super excited. I've never done anything quite like this but I love to perform, I love to do spoken word with rhythm and a bit of a theatrical flair, I try to make it very entertaining, I think this is something where even if you don't see yourself as a poetry person, you can come and you're gonna have a good time. And maybe walk away a little confused about whether or not you're a poetry person. So if you've enjoyed top hits of my arcpod career, like the Eternal Party episode, The Fire Song and the ominous season 2 prophecy, come support me live! I don't know if any of you actually live nearby but if any Station Arcadia listeners make it out, it would make my whole year, and we can totally talk podcast stuff afterwards.

This event is at 7pm, October 13th, and the venue is DCTRL at 436 W Pender st, Vancouver BC. For updates, you can follow my instagram eli_and_ego or the open mic series, which is open.mic.night.1

Okay, I think that's everything! Stay safe out there, and, I'll see you round! Bye.
