Hi, and welcome to another episode of the Spoken Spells Podcast. I am your host, Marlana, and today I wanted to share with you about a download that came through recently. It was in response to a conversation I had with loved ones concerning what it is like being a woman in this world today. When these types of downloads come through, I feel it is essential to share the message and to let anyone else who may be feeling the same way know they are not alone—sending lots of love from my heart to yours!

This podcast is a container, a safe space where I can share my heart, life stories & perspectives with you through spoken word poetry & other musings.

I wrote this poem in November/December 2021. It was inspired by contemplating my Mercury sphere in my birth chart. My Mercury Gene Key on my "unconscious" side in Human Design is #63 - Curiosity & Doubt:

The Spiral of Life:

Where all ends are beginnings

in the circle of life and death,

forever stuck on repeat in this

Adam & Eve Loop in Time

I hope this poem helps to shed some light or provides a few different perspectives on this we live in currently. Today I wanted to share a little about who I am, why I started this podcast, and why I named it Spoken Spells.

I woke up one morning and decided I wanted to commit to starting a podcast. I have been thinking about it off and on for about four years, if not longer. I knew I wanted to base it on the poems I have been writing off and on over the past 4 or 5 years or so, but I wasn't quite sure what to name it. I had been going back and forth trying to develop a few different plays on words - trying to make it unique and truly authentic to me, who I am, and what I represent. I

Well, that's when I heard my soul whisper, "call it Spoken Spells." I believe it's because I have been on this spiritual journey for quite a while now and have developed a good understanding of the true power that words hold. Words are symbols. They are spells when spoken, heard, written, or even said silently to ourselves within our heads. They are the daughters of this world. They contain the keys and vibrational frequencies that can unlock what's been hiding within our subconscious for too long. They can be both harmful or, if filtered through the heart first, can be healing and beneficial, much like anything else in this world we live in today.

Rip open your heart with me, and let us soar together to new heights, dipping into the valleys and lows and exploring all of life. All while loving, supporting, and encouraging each other to keep moving forward on this journey we call life. I love you, and thank you so much for listening as I share my stories of finding my way through the dark forest, coming out of hiding, and back into the light of day again.
