About this listen

Good morning. Southern California. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside right now and you'll feel that crisp 50 degrees. But Today's just the warm-up act. Sunshine everywhere, but the winds are shifting. Greater Los Angeles hits 74 degrees by noon with light northwest breezes around 5 to 10 miles an hour. San Diego County climbs to 75 with gustier northwest winds up to 15, gusts to 25. But the Inland Empire? That's where things get interesting. You're topping out at 72, but north winds are howling at 20 to 25 miles an hour with gusts to 48 miles an hour. Patchy blowing dust kicks up before 4 P.M. — secure anything loose outside. Tonight brings the real show. Mostly clear skies, lows drop to the low 50s along the coast, upper 40s inland. But those winds? They're just warming up. High Wind Warnings are in effect for the mountains through Saturday afternoon — gusts could hit 65 miles an hour in the San Gabriel range. Saturday cranks it up. Temperatures jump — Los Angeles hits 82. San Diego reaches 79. Inland Empire climbs to 75. But the Santa Ana winds spread south, gusting 40 to 50 miles an hour across San Diego County. If you're heading out, take it slow and watch for blowing debris. Sunday's the peak. We're talking mid 80s across the coast and valleys — Los Angeles hits 86. San Diego 83. Inland Empire 84. That's 48 degrees above normal. The winds finally ease by Sunday evening. Looking ahead — a slight chance of mountain showers late Sunday into Monday as a low moves through Baja. Then we cool down Monday and Tuesday before another warm-up mid-week. See you tomorrow.
