It's time for a gin and tonic, as I devote most of this episode to Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath. I talk in detail about the Back to the Beginning concert, that happened on July 5. I go through the acts that played, some of the songs they covered, and what Black Sabbath sounded like when the four original members took the stage. Also, I go over Black Sabbath's legendary "Paranoid" album in the Vintage Pour. Plus, I talk about the AI project known as Velvet Sundown, and Oasis' first show since 2009. Cheers!

Did Richard D James really dj a set scratching sandpaper, with people not able to tell the difference? Join me for a glass of sauvignon blanc, as my Vintage Pour centers around Aphex Twin's masterwork "Selected Ambient Works 85-92." I'll talk about Aphex Twin (the real vs fiction), this legendary electronic album, and his influence on other artists. I also talk about a recent show from Ozomatli, and review my experience at Fullerton's Day of Music event on June 21. Cheers!

  • The Warmth of The Sun: A Tribute To Brian Wilson
    Jun 18 2025

    Send us a text

Grab yourself a Moscow mule (I did), while I pay tribute to the late Brian Wilson, the main sonic architect of The Beach Boys. I focus largely on the singles he played a hand in writing during their 'hit' years, right up to 'Good Vibrations.' I'll also talk about why I love those earlier songs more than I love "Pet Sounds" (blasphemy!). Also, I highlight some local free events this weekend. Lastly, the Vintage Pour focus on a lesser known Fleetwood Mac album from 1972, on the heels of the track "Sunny Side of Heaven" gaining traction on social media. Cheers!

    May 22 2025

Grab yourself a glass of your favorite beverage (I'm having a Hess Cabernet Sauvignon), as I talk about my experience this last weekend at Modesto's Porchfest. Then, take note, as I review some of the restaurants, bars, and wineries that I check out when I visit Napa for Bottlerock weekend. And enjoy the vintage pour, as I recall the 2021 edition of Bottlerock (the first after covid). It was a lineup that boasted big names like Foo Fighters, Miley Cyrus, and Guns N' Roses, and relatively lesser known names like Suki Waterhouse, Gracie Abrams, and Dominic Fike. Cheers!
