There was a singing group called the Attractioners that converted an old building into a makeshift record factory. They pressed their work onto huge discs, stored the unreleased recordings in a secure vault, and filled their songs with hidden messages. Their music was powerful enough to inspire a positive movement, which made them both influential and suspect — they were watched because they were a potential
Meanwhile, their love songs brought people together at events, in homes, and across communities. The group became indispensable to Priscilla’s business: Monty sent unsigned artists to her, and Priscilla always put her artists first, taking less for herself so everyone else was paid. Because of that generosity, money flowed in and there was plenty to go around.
In the end Priscilla and Monty had to guard against those who wanted to bring them down. Priscilla’s own producer, Rob Spencer, emerged as the ringleader, scheming to steal her artists and sabotage her company. But Monty and the record-making group, the Attractioners, stood firm behind her, protecting the music and the business they had built.
