  • The Worst Happened: Abortion Part 2
    Nov 30 2022

Description: The worst happened, listen in as Jessica C., Linda and Jessica Denise discuss the current state of abortion in the US. Thirteen states have designed “trigger” laws that took effect automatically or by quick state action once Roe no longer applied. These states are Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming. While abortion may be banned or severely limited in your state there are organizations across the US and in your own state that have been doing this work prior to Roe being overturned. The barriers ahead are the clearest when we know who is experiencing the most pain and who is most impacted, from there we can roll up our sleeves and start doing the work. Above all, please remember as Audre Lorde said it best, “caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation and that is an act of political warfare.” Take care of yourselves as we continue down this uncertain path.

  • Dismantling Roe: Abortion Part 1
    Nov 23 2022

Description: Attacks on abortion began well before the supreme court case in June 2022. In this episode, we talk about what the heck “pro-life” and “pro-choice” is. We highlight the importance of language and how it shapes how we view the world. We believe it’s important to make the best choice for your body. Ultimately, as Jessica Denise states, it all comes down to power and how to control others to maintain that power, until we reconcile those things within the conversation around abortion we will continue to echo the same issues we faced in the past.

    -Resources for Individuals Seeking Abortion
