James was born July i, 1935 and dies March 16, 2017 in Austin, Texas. During his career he worked with numerous prominent artists including: Gregg Allman, Elvin Bishop, Joe Bonamassa, Grateful Dead, Howlin' Wolf, Janis Joplin, Taj Mahal, Big Mama Thornton and Jimmy Vaughn to name just a few. He was recruited and played with Muddy Waters for several years. Tonight's tracks are from two of his many recordings: James Cotton "Living the Blues" and Dealing with the Devil.
