About this listen

We are the Choir of Our Lady of the Rosary in the parish of St. John, on the island of Barbados. Ours is a vibrant and active music ministry and we have created this podcast to focus on the psalms in the Catholic liturgy. Most of the musical settings are original compositions and we feel that they reflect the rhythm and flavour of our Caribbean culture. Our hope is that through this podcast we can share our love of the psalms with a wider global community.© 2022 Christianity Music Spirituality

  • Responsorial Psalm 103(104):1,24,29-31,34 for Pentecost - Send Forth Your Spirit, O Lord, And Renew The Face Of The Earth
    Jun 2 2025

    Wis 1: 7

    The Spirit of the Lord has filled the whole world

    and that which contains all things

    understands what is said, alleluia.

    Responsorial Psalm 103(104):1,24,29-31,34

    Send forth Your spirit, O Lord, and renew the face of the earth.

    Bless the Lord, my soul!

    Lord God, how great You are,

    How many are Your works, O Lord!

    The earth is full of Your riches.

    Send forth Your spirit, O Lord, and renew the face of the earth.

    You take back Your spirit, they die,

    returning to the dust from which they came.

    You send forth Your spirit, they are created;

    and You renew the face of the earth.

    Send forth Your spirit, O Lord, and renew the face of the earth.

    May the glory of the Lord last for ever!

    May the Lord rejoice in His works!

    May my thoughts be pleasing to Him.

    I find my joy in the Lord.

    Send forth your spirit, O Lord, and renew the face of the earth.

    May 25 2025

    Acts 1: 11

    Men of Galilee, why gaze in wonder at the heavens?

    This Jesus whom you saw ascending into heaven

    will return as you saw Him go, alleluia.

    Responsorial Psalm 46(47):2-3,6-9

    God goes up with shouts of joy; the Lord goes up with trumpet blast.

    All peoples, clap your hands,

    cry to God with shouts of joy!

    For the Lord, the Most High, we must fear,

    great king over all the earth.

    God goes up with shouts of joy; the Lord goes up with trumpet blast.

    God goes up with shouts of joy;

    the Lord goes up with trumpet blast.

    Sing praise for God, sing praise,

    sing praise to our king, sing praise.

    God goes up with shouts of joy; the Lord goes up with trumpet blast.

    God is king of all the earth,

    sing praise with all your skill.

    God is king over the nations;

    God reigns on His holy throne.

    God goes up with shouts of joy; the Lord goes up with trumpet blast.

  • Responsorial Psalm 117(118):1-2,16-17,22-23 for Easter Sunday - Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
    Apr 16 2025

    Cf. Ps 138: 18, 5-6

    I have risen, and I am with you still, alleluia.

    You have laid your hand upon me, alleluia.

    Too wonderful for me, this knowledge, alleluia, alleluia.

    Responsorial Psalm 117(118):1-2,16-17,22-23

    Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

    Give thanks to the Lord for he is good,

    for his love has no end.

    Let the sons of Israel say:

    ‘His love has no end.’

    Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

    The Lord’s right hand has triumphed;

    his right hand raised me up.

    I shall not die, I shall live

    and recount his deeds.

    Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

    The stone which the builders rejected

    has become the corner stone.

    This is the work of the Lord,

    a marvel in our eyes.

    Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
