About this listen

We are the Choir of Our Lady of the Rosary in the parish of St. John, on the island of Barbados. Ours is a vibrant and active music ministry and we have created this podcast to focus on the psalms in the Catholic liturgy. Most of the musical settings are original compositions and we feel that they reflect the rhythm and flavour of our Caribbean culture. Our hope is that through this podcast we can share our love of the psalms with a wider global community.© 2022 Christianity Music Spirituality

  • Responsorial Psalm 127(128):1-5 for the Feast of the Holy Family, Year A - O Blessed Are Those Who Fear The Lord And Walk In His Ways!
    Dec 23 2025

    Lk 2: 16

    The shepherds went in haste,

and found Mary and Joseph and the Infant lying in a manger.

Responsorial Psalm 127(128):1-5 for the Feast of the Holy Family, Yr A

O blessed are those who fear the Lord and walk in his ways!

O blessed are those who fear the Lord

    and walk in his ways!

By the labour of your hands you shall eat.

You will be happy and prosper.

O blessed are those who fear the Lord and walk in his ways!

Your wife will be like a fruitful vine

    in the heart of your house;

your children like shoots of the olive,

    around your table.

O blessed are those who fear the Lord and walk in his ways!

    Indeed thus shall be blessed

the man who fears the Lord.

May the Lord bless you from Zion

all the days of your life!

O blessed are those who fear the Lord and walk in his ways!

  • Responsorial Psalm 44(45):11-12,14-17 for the feast of St. Cecilia - Listen, O Daughter, Give Ear To My Words
    Nov 16 2025

In celebration of St. Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians and singers.

Behold, now she follows the Lamb who was crucified for us,

powerful in virginity, modesty her offering,

a sacrifice on the altar of chastity.

    Responsorial Psalm 44(45):11-12,14-17

Listen, O daughter, give ear to my words.

Listen, O daughter, give ear to my words:

forget your own people and your father’s house.

So will the king desire your beauty:

He is your lord, pay homage to him.

Listen, O daughter, give ear to my words.

The daughter of the king is clothed with splendour,

her robes embroidered with pearls set in gold.

She is led to the king with her maiden companions.

Listen, O daughter, give ear to my words.

    They are escorted amid gladness and joy;

they pass within the palace of the king.

Sons shall be yours in place of your fathers:

you will make them princes over all the earth.

Listen, O daughter, give ear to my words.

  • Responsorial Psalm 45(46):2-3,5-6,8-9 for the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica - The Waters Of A River Give Joy To God’s City, The Holy Place Where The Most High Dwells
    Nov 2 2025

    Cf. Rev 21: 3

Behold God’s dwelling with the human race.

He will dwell with them and they will be his people,

and God himself with them will be their God.

    Responsorial Psalm 45(46):2-3,5-6,8-9

The waters of a river give joy to God’s city, the holy place where the Most High dwells.

God is for us a refuge and strength,

a helper close at hand, in time of distress,

so we shall not fear though the earth should rock,

though the mountains fall into the depths of the sea.

The waters of a river give joy to God’s city, the holy place where the Most High dwells.

The waters of a river give joy to God’s city,

the holy place where the Most High dwells.

    God is within, it cannot be shaken;

God will help it at the dawning of the day.

The waters of a river give joy to God’s city, the holy place where the Most High dwells.

The Lord of hosts is with us:

the God of Jacob is our stronghold.

Come, consider the works of the Lord,

the redoubtable deeds he has done on the earth.

The waters of a river give joy to God’s city, the holy place where the Most High dwells.
