Lyn Ulbricht is the mother of Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht. The Silk Road was an online black market and the first darknet market that facilitated transactions through Bitcoin. At its peak, 9.5 million bitcoin flowed through the site in two years of operation. When Ross Ulbricht was arrested in 2013 on seven charges, including conspiracy to launder money, conspiracy to commit computer hacking, conspiracy to traffic narcotics by the means of the internet, and continuing a criminal enterprise. Lyn decided to set up the "Free Ross" non-profit dedicated to freeing her son. In this episode, Lyn talks about Ross, the "Free Ross" movement, and the future of anonymous marketplaces.
