The year was 1886, and one stray kick sent the world spinning into darkness.

Peter is a young boy with an insatiable curiosity and a nose for trouble. He’s heard his grandfather speak the name “Dicky Poggy” a million times, but the name’s owner has always been a total mystery. Until now.

One bloody tale of a savage contest is enough to hook Peter for life, but the path it leads him down can never be returned from. On his fractious journey to manhood, Peter unearths gruesome secrets of violence, murder and the supernatural which span centuries and continents. Skeletons come tumbling out of the family closet, pushing Peter to the very edge of sanity.
